Antigua Day 2

Day 2 ME: Intentional Living, One Step at a Time
My goal for the day was to embrace intentional living while leaving room for spontaneity. To me, living with intention means life happening through me, not to me. I challenged myself to do something different even if was small.

For years, I avoided wearing hats or sunglasses, thinking they’d draw too much attention, like I was showing off. But today, I broke that pattern. I wore sunglasses for the first time.

It might sound trivial, but for me, it was a psychological hurdlea and a symbol of letting go of my silly, self-imposed limitation. A small step to mbrace a new version of myself.

Day 2 THE SURROUNDS: Between Dream and Reality
I moved into the Airbnb I rented with my son-in-law’s parents, and my first impression wasn’t great. The place looked old, and I was annoyed that I ended up with the last room after they invited two unexpected guests, even though I paid half the price.

But by morning, all those feelings vanished. It didn’t take deep reflection to realize why. I’ve been so used to sitting in my apartment with nothing going on but to find a pain in my body or random things to complain about.

Today, I made a step toward change.

When I stepped outside, my perspective further shifted. The view was WTF . There was a pool in its own separate house, and the veranda was accessible was accesssible from every room and the view was ridicuous. It was surreal. I wish I could’ve let myself fully feel it, to believe it was real, but even standing there, it felt like a dream.

Day 2 THE FOOD: A Pricey Disappointment
The food here just isn’t hitting the mark, and

I know it’s partly because of where I’ve been getting it. Determined to change that, I went to the supermarket, thinking I could pick up something I’d actually enjoy. Big mistake. Everything was ridiculously tourist-priced, and after spending way too much, I got back to the Airbnb and realized I still had nothing I truly wanted to eat. Total fail. Here’s hoping tomorrow serves up something better!

I’m not even going to mention the food anymore. I didn’t enjoy the food. I came back 9lbs lighter.

Day 2 Closing Thoughts:
