Antigua Day 3

Day 3 ME: Celebrate & Navigate
This was the day of the Welcome Party. I was excited to attend, especially since it’s been years since I’ve had a reason to dress up. I chose a black shirt, linen pants, and a waist length silky kimono-style waist length cover-up with turquiose earrings.

This was also the first night I saw Gaston, my soon-to-be ex-husband, in years. It was…weird. He was weird. After an awkward hello, I managed to avoid him until a few people asked us to take a picture together. But honestly? Interacting with him was irrelevant to the evening. I will tell you later about how much of a jerk he was right before I left and you can tell me if I overreacted.

This night wasn’t about old moments, it was about Brittany’s new one moment, and she was beautifyl. I was so proud to celebrate her happiness as she begins this incredible new chapter.

Day 3 THE SURROUNDS: Morning Light, Still Surreal
I woke up early, starting my day with my usual morning routine of binging on tiny house videos on YouTube. But I did something different, I drew back the curtains to let the sunlight in and stepped onto the veranda to take in the fresh morning air.

It was peaceful, the kind of moment I imagine myself enjoying in the life I’m trying to create. Yet, I didn’t stay out there long. I think I am so used to being inside that stepping out feels unfamiliar. The view, the air, the stillness felt like I was watching someone else’s life. But it’s mine, and I’m learning to embrace it, little by little.

Day 3: THE FOOD: Maybe It’s Not the Food
The food at the Welcome Party wasn’t bad, but I didn’t eat much. In hindsight, maybe it’s not really about the food at all. Maybe it’s the Zepbound (that’s a story for another time 😊). Whatever the reason, I didn’t eating much.

Day 3 Closing Thoughts

Today was a vibe. Brittany shined, the party hit just right, and I’m slowly letting this new reality sink in. On to the next!
