Day 5: A Beautiful Day for Brittany
The day we had all been waiting for, the reason we were there, finally arrived. Brittany’s wedding day was nothing short of amazing. She was so calm and relaxed, either because she’s the coolest person I know or because brides go into some kind of overdrive on their wedding day. Either way, she was stunning.
She made a point to have both her father and me walk her down the aisle, refusing to follow the old-fashioned idea of a father “handing her off” to another man. It was such a meaningful choice, and it made me proud to see her embrace her values even on such a traditional day.
The ceremony itself was unique, officiated by someone from her job. It was different but delightful, with a few curse words and funny stories that added to the charm. The reception kept the lighthearted and fun vibe going. Although I didn’t eat much, the food I did have was actually good—a nice surprise after my food struggles all week.
I wore a red dress with flats, keeping it simple and comfortable for the big day. All in all, it was a beautiful celebration of Brittany and Emeka, full of love, laughter, and joy.
